Lessons from the Locker Room is an innovative breakfast forum which provides business people the chance to sit down (if you like, in the comfort of your own boardroom), listen to and pick the brains of high achieving athletes and other profile sports identities. It’s a perfect way to entertain and engage with clients in an affordable, time efficient manner. You’ll be back at the desk at 9am, inspired and ready to go.
There’s no doubt about the parallels that exist between achievement in sport and achievement in business. What applies to one, almost certainly applies to the other. Strong leadership, clear communication, goal setting, courage, risk management, self belief, perseverance, sacrifice – the winning attributes remain the same, regardless of the field of endeavour.
So we can learn a lot from our young sports men and women, even if they have rarely – if ever – set foot inside a boardroom.
There’s scope to marry up speakers with the relevant season, or major event.
All speakers committed to the breakfast program are high achievers, and if not retired, are normally in the twilight of their career as a professional athlete.
They are well rounded individuals, with interests and qualifications outside their respective sporting arenas. This gives them currency and relevance in the business sector.
Their brief is not to relate “locker-room stories” but to offer business people an insight into the mindset, approach and dedication of a successful professional athlete, as well as examine (if relevant) key elements of a winning team environment.
By request, the athletes are able to tailor their address to meet your specific objectives or interests.
